WELCOME STATEMENT
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The Gates of Praise & Salvation Church (GOPS) is a non-denominational, community-based, five-fold ministry located on the South side of Chicago, Illinois.
We are a Holy Ghost filled ministry whose charge is to:
1. "... preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
2. "... baptize in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ..." (Acts 2:38)
3. "Teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you ..." (Matthew 28:20)
4. "Study to show ourselves approved unto God workmen that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Timothy 2:15)
5. "... be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh us a reason
of the hope that is in us with meekness and fear." (I Peter 3:15)
6. "... deal thy bread to the hungry, ... bring the poor that are cast out to thy house
... when thou seest the naked ... cover him ..." - (Isaiah 58:7)
In this pursuit, we have an interactive Sunday School (facilitated by a pool of Spirit led teachers) which is the platform for in-depth discussion and learning to bring about the acquisition of spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the word of God. This service also provides an avenue for members to learn who the Lord is; what He has called us to; and what pleases and displeases Him - which is very important to know if one seeks to walk in the blessing of the Lord.
Our Sunday Worship includes anointed prayer, high praise and worship, and an anointed prophetic message by Pastor Otis L. Nunn.
The weekly Bible Study is anointed prayer, high praise and worship, anointed teaching of the hidden truths of the Bible, and/or anointed prophetic messages by Pastor Otis L. Nunn, and Co-Pastor Alberta O. Nunn.
The monthly Corporate Prayer Service is high praise and worship, anointed prayer by individual congregants as they are moved by the Holy Ghost, and/or spiritual deliverance/s.
Communion Services are conducted monthly (1st Sunday); and Baptismal Services are conducted as necessary.
The GOPS Local, National, & International Charities respectively are other aspects of our outreach to the nations.
